The Plan

We are off on the ferry bound for Caen then we drive across France to Switzerland at Basel and on to St Gallen. We have an overnight stop in Burnhaupt-le-Haut along the way.
After 5 nights with our friends in St Gallen we set off once again via Geneva and an overnight stop in Charolles in France then arrive in Jard-sur-Mer on the next day.
After 2 weeks there we drive to St Malo for two nights before getting the ferry home.

A very damp and dreary start to the day with a fine but constant drizzle. We had fried eggs, ham and sauté potatoes for breakfast.

We settled into a routing of sewing reading and video-editing and before we knew it the sun was breaking through.

We had a cake and tea for lunch!! Then we headed out for another cycle ride.

First to La Ragounite where the surf was up and the beach was empty; it was lovely to have the place to ourselves, there was one sole surfer out waiting to catch that perfect wave. A couple wandered through walking their dog then an old chap arrived on his bike, sat and watched the sea for a few moments then set off again. He had a sad air about him as if he was missing someone.

Off to the Port at Jard and we walked along the breakwater, which was doing a fine job of the waves. It was very windy but warm.

We checked the shops in Jard, which mostly seemed to be closed this afternoon, so we need to check out one or two things in the morning there. Then on again to St Vincent-sur-Jard for an ice-cream from our usual guy. He was very chatty today and we managed some good conversation.

Back home which was hard work into the prevailing winds although we did come through the forest as far as we could to avoid the worst exposed bits.

Then it was time to hit the Super U for some provisions and some things to take back with us. We have not eaten out here as much as in the past, partly, I think, because it has just been the two of us but more because the restaurant prices seem very much higher.

Feel quite sad that we only have one full day of holiday left now here then on Friday afternoon we head off to St Malo for two nights.
