The Plan

We are off on the ferry bound for Caen then we drive across France to Switzerland at Basel and on to St Gallen. We have an overnight stop in Burnhaupt-le-Haut along the way.
After 5 nights with our friends in St Gallen we set off once again via Geneva and an overnight stop in Charolles in France then arrive in Jard-sur-Mer on the next day.
After 2 weeks there we drive to St Malo for two nights before getting the ferry home.

Sunday 4th September 2011 ~ Scroll for the photos ~

Today was meant to be very rainy and it did pour down early on but we had slept for many hours and woke after 9am so finding the worst of the day had passed already.

We had a big brunch and then mid afternoon set off for La Ragounite beach which is very pretty, it was low tide and so acres of rocks were exposed but the sand and the shady areas provided by the coastal pine trees were lovely. There is a strong perfume of pine from these trees which wafts in the air.

We walked our bikes through the woods and eventually came out on the La Mine road and so headed back towards Jard. We turned back towards the beach and passed ‘Les Ecureuils’ campsite again before heading back home avoiding the ice-cream temptation this time!

Came home for Pizza which we had bought the other day in La Tranche and I did a load more cross-stitch finishing the sea around the coast!
